What is Dragonfall about?

A weary crew of an Empire ship returns from the high seas, their vessel riding low with the weight of another rich haul. As they near home, the promise of taverns and drink fills the air, but their celebration is cut short when something stirs beneath the water—a rotten log, or so they think. The rising tide washes a monstrous shape against the hull, and terror grips the sailors as a sea dragon launches its attack. Axes are readied, cannons roar, and in the chaos, a lone swordsman leaps into the fray, driving the beast back and saving the ship. Hailed as a hero, he is brought before the captain, but his name—Rick—carries no glory, only the weight of a past he cannot escape. Meanwhile, in the port town, the dragon hunting squad has gathered under the king's command. Among them are two newcomers, brash and untested, who quickly find themselves at odds with Nanuk, the strongest warrior from the frozen north. A brutal fight is arranged, and bets are placed with the newcomers as seven-to-one underdogs. The captain watches closely, eager to see what mettle these rookies possess. As fists fly and tempers flare, the stakes grow beyond mere pride—the king's plan to defeat the dragon Azeriel demands warriors of uncommon strength, and every clash in the tavern yard is a test of who will survive the battles to come. In a world where the sea hides ancient horrors and the taverns seethe with rivalries, courage and brutality walk hand in hand. The swordsman's heroism has earned him a place among the dragon hunters, but the path ahead is littered with doubt and danger. With the shadow of Azeriel looming, every recruit must prove their worth—or be carried out on a stretcher. Dragonfall is a tale of salt, steel, and the monsters that lurk both beneath the waves and within the hearts of men.
