Moonlight Mountain - Episode 1

What is Moonlight Mountain — Episode 1 about (Plot Synopsis)?

In a world where dwarven halls once stood eternal, a young dwarf named Eldrin searches desperately for his friend Varrik amid the chaos of a fallen citadel. Their fathers are on the other side of the capital, and the two must flee at once—for this is no longer their mountain. As they escape, an elder recounts the tragedy: in a single night, the stone that had sheltered their people for centuries became their grave. Hope abandoned their kind, and from that day on, they walked. Now, led by Taldrin, the dwarves journey across frozen passes, through hunger and exhaustion, listening to one mountain after another, each answering with silence. Eldrin, a stone listener in training, asks to try hearing the mountain's call. His uncle teaches him to place his ear against the rock and clear his mind, but Eldrin hears nothing. Still, they press on, driven by the faintest hope. Then one day they see her—a mountain standing among lakes and towering peaks as if waiting for them all along. She invites them, and for the first time in years, they believe they have found their last mountain. But acceptance is not the same as opening. Before they can call it home, they must earn the right to enter. While some raise the camp, others learn to read the stone, searching for the place where the heart of the mountain will allow itself to be touched. Not every wall wants to become a gate, and not every blow is worthy of being struck. As dwarves from different lands unite under a shared love for the mountain that called them, they work day and night, hauling stone and repairing tools, tested by weight, dust, and fractures. The mountain does not open at once—it tests them, and their resolve must be as unyielding as the rock itself.
