Fandango

What is Fandango about (Plot Synopsis)?

In a sun-scorched frontier town where every transaction carries a debt, a drifter named Calder navigates a fragile alliance with a former partner who once betrayed him over a boat and a bounty. The two men circle each other with old resentment, their uneasy reunion shadowed by the memory of a prisoner handed to the marshal and a reward split unevenly. As Calder prepares for an open challenge before the main match at four o'clock, the town hums with quiet tensions—boatmen charging by the foot of street frontage, a marshal named Marshall demanding words, and a woman named Ren who watches the duel from under the roof, remembering what Calder sounds like in direct sunlight. A murder warrant hangs in the air after a man named Harlan is shot while going home after a run, and a witness named Tor is placed under officer protection. The bounty is two thousand alive, and whatever money is recovered goes back to the crew. Calder, who has brought men in for years, still needs paying. As the crossing opens and foundations for chargers at South Bank near completion, the town's fragile order tilts toward violence. Everyone is watching everyone—Sena at the boat counter, Vin booking passage, the lads who owe for feed and beds. In this world of rinsed cups, quiet animals for hire, and tables that still smell of home, loyalty is a currency as unstable as the river's shallow channel. The match starts at four, and Calder will be there.
